Your Session
I believe natural lighting is the most beautiful lighting. Therefore, our time together will be done on location in an outdoor venue or inside in a well-lit area by windows. We can do your photo session at a park, in your backyard, in an urban setting or wherever it is comfortable. We'll talk in advance of your session so I can get to know and your loved ones and we'll work togethter to make your session unique, interesting and fun! My style is candid portraiture - I want to capture real life moments of you and your loved ones. After our session you will be given an online gallery of proofs showcasing approximately 25-35 individually handcrafted images to tell the story of our time together. Albums are a great way to showcase these images in one keepsake and digital files are very popular with my clients as it gives them the flexibility to print their images in whatever size they wish and as much as they wish.
A Few Q&As...
Q: How soon should I book a session?
A: In order to give the personal attention that I feel each of my clients deserve, I only schedule 2-4 sessions per month. Please try to book your portrait session six to eight weeks in advance to ensure availability. For newborn sessions, please book prior to the baby's arrival and as soon as possible. I keep a limited amount of space available for last-minute newborns; I'll pencil you in based on your due date and then make room for you in my schedule once the baby arrives. The newborn session should be completed by the time the baby turn 2 weeks old.
Q: I've got a really fun place I wanna try for our session - is that okay?
A: Great, I'm always looking for fun, new places to shoot! If the location is further than 15 miles of my home (located in 27615 zip code) then let's talk to see if an additional cost will be incurred.
Q: There are more than 4 of us that would like to participate in our portrait session, what should we do?
A. For portrait sessions with more than 4 people please add $15 charge for each additional person.
Q: What is the best time of day to schedule sessions?
A: Early morning and late afternoon/evening is the best time because the light is most flattering during this time of day. The sessions typically last from one to two hours depending on what we are attempting to accomplish.
Q: How soon will I see my pictures?
A. I typically have a "sneak peek" posted on my blog within a few days of your session. Within 3 weeks (usually sooner) I have your images edited and available online in a slide show for viewing. Please feel free to share your sneak peek and blog post with friends and family.
Q: What should I wear to my session?
A: Simple is best. I love layers & bright colors. I really love carefully selected props - hats, umbrellas, tutus, pettiskirts, and for little ones - lots of skin. :) A "what to wear" guide will be provided once your session is scheduled and confirmed.
Q: What do I need to do if I need to reschedule?
A: There are times when weather or illness may require rescheduling. If this is the case, please call me as soon as possible at 919-441-1098 to reschedule your session and every effort will be made to reschedule as quickly as possible.
Q: Can I scan my pictures?
A: No, all images are copyrighted and it is illegal to scan prints purchased. However, if a digital package is purchased you will be permitted to make unlimited reprints from the images on the CD.
Looking forward to working with you!
